This beautiful home is a project World Painting Company has provided both drywall & painting! Some of the colors used are New England Yellow in the 1st floor office/study, Bittersweet in the 1st floor dining room, and Barnwood throughout the living room, entry way, & hall ways.

Check out our drywall project at the Trails on Sunset Lake Subdivision in Bloomington, IL! This house consist of 177 sheets of 1/2″ – 54″ x 12′ & 293 sheets of 1/2″ & 5/8″  -  4′ x 12′. All wall surfaces have smooth finish except the 2nd floor, garage, and basement ceilings with knockdown finish.

The Holiday Inn Express in Bloomington, IL has contracted World Painting Company to renovate the complete interior & exterior of their hotel. Check out these pictures and view the scope of work we have completed!

Work to be completed:

Drywall:

• Install new drywall -repair and tie in to existing drywall on bathroom soffits-prime and paint soffits accent color
  • 86 Rooms
• Install new drywall -repair and tie in to existing drywall on guest room entry soffits-prime and apply two finish coats paint
  • 43 Rooms

Painting:

Interior Painting

• Interior paint work to be completed as follows (all walls/ceilings and bathroom walls/ceilings in 86 Rooms and bathrooms):
  • Cover and protect all permanent fixtures to include furnishings, flooring, etc…
  • Remove existing wall covering
  • Repair any imperfections in drywall in preparation for litex application
  • Sand all repair work as needed
  • Apply one finish coat of interior litex application
  • Apply two finish coats of interior flat latex enamel
  • Labor and materials

• Paint work to be completed in pool room–repair drywall prior to finish work-prime repairs.
• Apply two finish coats water-based catalyzed epoxy to walls and ceiling

Interior sealant application to be completed on pool decking as follows:

• Pressure wash all pool decking surfaces to remove all surface contaminants
• Caulk all cracks as needed with elastomeric masonry caulk
• Mask and protect all surfaces as needed
• Apply finish coat of H and C paver sealer- clear

Exterior Painting

• Exterior paint work completed as follows:
  • Mask and protect all fixtures of hotel in preparation for paint work
  • Special consideration will be made to cooperate with Hotel Operations
  • Power wash exterior of building prior to paint work to remove dirt , mildew and contaminants
  • Hand scrub all surfaces
  • Rinse all exterior surfaces thoroughly
  • Caulk all areas of building as necessary–windows, ptac units, etc.
  • Repair eifs siding prior to finish work-prime repairs
  • Apply two finish coats of Sherwin Williams exterior satin latex to all exterior surfaces to include canopy area
  • Prepped and painted down spouts
  • Painted stripes behind down spouts
• Stripe Parking Lot Spaces

Currently, The Arbors at Eastland is undergoing a major remodeling project. World Painting Company is providing all the drywall and painting for all of their newly remodeled facilities. Check out these pictures of our progress:

Below is a check list we hand to our clients, this breaks down the standard “Turn Painting” or re-painting procedure.

In general if you are reading this and doing our jobs you are a professional and we appreciate and expect a professional job site and result at all times.  Here is a more specific list of things to be sure are done in every apartment before you leave the apartment and report to our office that you are done.  If you report these items done and we find they are not, you will not be paid for the paint job since there are costs associated to us in having you go back, not to mention the inconvenience you are imposing on our customers by not getting things done right the first time. Please make sure the following items are completed:

• Inspect apartments prior to paint work and document previous paint on trim and permanent fixtures
  • (ie: switch plates, heat grills, lighting, etc.)

• All surfaces you are contracted to paint have proper coverage

• If it is a full paint, all counter tops and tubs are to be caulked

• Sinks and tubs are to be wiped clean of paint splatter

• There is not to be any evidence of cleaning paint tools in sinks or tubs

• Absolutely no smoking in apartments at anytime

• If it is a furnished unit, furnishing needs to be moved back to the way it was when started

• It curtains or blinds are detached, please reset them upon completion

• If closet shelving is removed, please reset upon completion

• Double check to make sure that there is not paint splatter on any flooring

• If there are patches that are sanded, the dust needs to be vacuumed

• Do not leave any trash such as food, tape, drinks, empty paint buckets, etc on the job site

• Be sure to turn off all lights, turn air conditioner off

• Double check everything on this list upon completion of paint work

This home is located in Franklin Park Historic District near downtown Bloomington. The owner had decided to rejuvenate the existing home and recreate an exact copy of the once gorgeous building. This project is definitely one to show off our high quality work, check out our progress! Exterior work which was completed:

• Power wash all exterior surfaces of home
  Hand scrub all surfaces to remove all surface contaminants to include dirt, mildew, etc…
  Rinse all surfaces thoroughly
  Mask and protect all permanent fixtures of home as needed and in compliance with
  Scrape all loose and peeling paint. Contain and dispose of chips in consideration of EPA regulations
  Apply one coat of exterior primer/sealer to all exterior surfaces. Zinsser cover stain alkyd primer is to be used.
  Apply finish coat of exterior flat latex to all siding surfaces and finish coat of exterior semi gloss latex to trim and windows
• Apply two coats of Loxon XP masonry primer finish to foundation

Since it was a historical project, World Painting Company had used it’s the proper procedures to give us the accredited EPA Lead Safe Certified Firm (NAT 31708-1)

During the summer, World Painting Company works with Illinois State University and the Red Bird Pride organization to spread awareness for the Illinois State Redbirds.After painting about 100+ Redbirds later throughout Bloomington and Normal, we are now available to paint Reggie Redbird’s at local businesses and residential locations. World Painting Company and our partners in Champaign’s Home Builders Association will be building a GREEN model home in the South Ridge subdivision, Mahomet IL. The HBA has designed and will build a sustainable home to the National Association of Home Builders’ National GOLD Green Building Standard.

This is an educational, promotional and marketing project all rolled into one, but the main goal is to educate the members and the consumer public on the affordability, ease, and local availability of GREEN buildings.

GREEN Model Home:

• Approximately 2,589 square feet
• Unfinished Basement will be Approximately 1,549 square feet
• 4 Bedrooms
• 2.5 Bath

World Painting Company has donated all labor, drywall, and supplies to complete the follow work!

New Construction Paint Work Completed as follows:

• Apply one coat of primer to all interior wall surfaces
• Stain and finish standard stair parts package
• Paint garage walls
• Prep and apply two coats of semi gloss latex to all interior trim and doors (inclusive of one room of crown and chair rail)
• Prep and apply two coats of flat latex enamel to all wall surfaces (two wall colors are allowable)
• Prep and paint two coats of exterior semi gloss enamel to service doors and door jambs
• Touch up paint work after carpet

Drywall Work Completed as follows:

• Hang, tape and finish work to be completed as follows:
• Hang all walls and ceilings
• Tape and finish all surfaces
• Texture areas as specified
• Sand floors after finish work
• Labor, tape, screws, and bead are inclusive
• Hang, tape and finish work to be completed as follows on ICF foundation walls
• Hang all walls
• Tape and finish all surfaces
• Labor, tape, screws, mud, and bead are inclusive

Drywall Sheets Provided as follows:

• 190 Sheets of 1/2″ – 4×12

Here you can see some drywall repairs we completed on parking garage ceiling at 508 E Clark in Champaign, IL

• Cut-out and replace moldy and compromised drywall
• Re-tape and finish all areas of existing damaged  drywall as needed-install corner bead as necessary
• Hand scrub areas with mildew/mold contamination with bleach

• Clean-broom off all areas of ceiling prior to finish paint work
• Apply finish coat semi-gloss enamel to ceiling
